The Full-Ocean-Depth Underwater-Mateable Optical & Electrical Connector Assembly is a core connectivity solution engineered for extreme marine environments. It delivers a stable and high-performance interface for the transmission of optical signals, electrical signals, and power, specifically designed for permanently deployed oceanographic instruments and dynamically reconfigurable underwater networks. Comprising connectors and cable assemblies, its form factor and tail length can be customized to meet diverse installation and operational requirements, providing robust hardware support for seamless data and power interconnectivity between subsea assets.

  1. Multi-Function Transmission: Integrates optical signal, electrical signal, and power transmission in a single interface. With 4 optical channels and selectable electrical cores, it simultaneously enables multi-channel data communication and power delivery, achieving "all-in-one" functionality.

  2. Broad Operational Temperature Range: An operating temperature range of -45°C to +85°C allows it to function reliably across varying ocean temperatures, from polar regions to tropical waters, unaffected by extreme conditions.

An insulation resistance of ≥1000 MΩ (under normal conditions) and a dielectric withstand voltage of 1000-10000 V DC for 1 minute effectively prevent leakage and breakdown hazards, ensuring the safety of both equipment and personnel. A mechanical life of 300 mating cycles, coupled with resilience to high-frequency vibration (10–500 Hz, 0.75mm/100m/s²) and 100g shock, guarantees stable, long-term performance in complex marine conditions.

  4. Modular, Series Design for Wide Compatibility: Employs a series design for key parameters. Electrical contact configurations are available in 3, 7, and 12 cores, with tail exit angles of 45° or 90°. This meets diverse requirements for signal channel count and installation angles from various subsea equipment, reducing application costs by eliminating the need for custom development.

  • Underwater Habitat & Mobile Platform Interconnection: Enables instant connection between underwater habitats and mobile platforms like Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) or Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). It provides power replenishment and high-bandwidth data exchange, supporting extended missions for inspection, maintenance, and operation around the habitat.
