Product Overview

In subsea engineering, transmitting delicate data through high-pressure, high-interference environments requires a highly specialized medium. Unlike general marine cables, the RECH 4×0.3mm² Transverse Watertight Transmission Cable is strictly positioned as a "Signal-Level Watertight Cable."

We designed this cable around three core attributes to ensure zero data loss in critical aquatic deployments:

Micro Cross-Section (4×0.3mm²): Optimized for low-current, high-frequency data telemetry, reducing overall cable weight and footprint for compact marine instruments.

Advanced Shielding: Eliminates Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and cross-talk, ensuring crystal-clear analog and digital signal integrity.

Transverse Watertightness (Water-Blocking Technology): Engineered with internal water-blocking gels or swellable tapes. Even if the outer jacket suffers a mechanical breach, the transverse watertight structure prevents capillary water ingress from traveling along the length of the cable and destroying connected electronics.

Core Advantages

Full Cross-Sectional Transverse Watertight Design: The integrated water-blocking tape and yarn, made from polyester fiber composite high-water-absorbent material, expand hundreds of times their volume upon contact with water. Even if the outer sheath is damaged, it quickly forms a dynamic sealing barrier to prevent water penetration along core gaps, eliminating short circuits and equipment failures.

High-Purity Oxygen-Free Copper Conductors: Constructed with multi-strand stranded high-purity oxygen-free copper (purity ≥99.95%), this seawater resistant cable offers excellent conductivity and oxidation resistance. Its maximum conductor resistance at 20°C is ≤12.10 Ω/km, ensuring efficient power and signal transmission over long distances.

Superior Corrosion and Wear Resistance: The black silicone rubber sheath (RAL9005) provides exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion, UV radiation, and mechanical abrasion. With a wear amount of ≤0.1mm/1000 friction cycles, it withstands the rigors of underwater towing and pressure.

High-Efficiency Electromagnetic Shielding: The tinned copper wire braid shielding (coverage ≥85%) combined with a bare copper tape drainage layer delivers excellent EMI protection. Its grounding resistance is ≤2Ω, ensuring clear signal transmission in electrically noisy underwater environments.

Wide Temperature and Flexibility Range: Operates reliably from -40°C to +90°C and features a flexible design that supports frequent bending and towing, making it ideal for dynamic underwater equipment.

Applications

Because of its unparalleled signal isolation and hydrostatic pressure resistance, this 4×0.3mm² watertight cable is the standard choice for telemetry in sensitive marine ecosystems:

  • Underwater Sensors & Instrumentation

Wiring for Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth (CTD) sensors, dissolved oxygen meters, and deep-sea pressure transducers.

  • Water Quality Monitoring Networks

Data backhaul for smart buoys, environmental monitoring stations, and aquaculture telemetry systems.

  • Sonar & Acoustic Signal Telemetry

Connecting hydrophones and acoustic release transponders where absolute minimal signal attenuation and EMI protection are critical.

Signal vs. Power Cable

A common question we receive from system integrators is how to differentiate the deployment of our small-gauge watertight cables versus our heavy-duty models. To design a reliable ROV or subsea node, you must strictly separate Signal from Power.

Here is the engineering division of labor between the 4×0.3mm² and the 4×6.0mm² watertight cables:

Attribute

4 × 0.3 mm² (Signal-Level Cable)

4 × 6.0 mm² (Power-Level Cable)

Primary Function

Data Telemetry & Micro-Power

Heavy Power Distribution & Drive

Payload Example

Sonar, CTD sensors, serial data (RS485), video signals.

ROV thrusters, subsea floodlights, main power nodes.

Electrical Focus

Low capacitance, high shielding against EMI, low signal attenuation.

High ampacity (Current-carrying capacity), heat dissipation, low voltage drop.

Design Priority

Precision, flexibility, and absolute signal integrity.

Raw power delivery, mechanical ruggedness, and thermal stability.

FAQs

What is the difference between transverse watertight and traditional waterproof cables?

Traditional waterproof cables only protect against external water penetration through the sheath. Our transverse watertight cable prevents water from spreading along the cable length even if the sheath is damaged, significantly improving safety and reliability.

Can this cable be submerged in seawater continuously?

Yes, the chloroprene rubber sheath and corrosion-resistant materials are designed for continuous submersion in seawater, making it ideal for long-term subsea installations.

Do you offer custom cable lengths?

Yes, while the standard packaging is 100 meters per coil, we can provide custom lengths up to 500 meters per reel to meet specific project requirements.

What is the insulation resistance of this cable?

The PVC insulation provides an insulation resistance of ≥100 MΩ·km, effectively isolating core signals and preventing crosstalk.
